Ah, "Michelangleo's Birthday" . . .
I hope its obvious that I think this is one of the top 5 dumbest episodes of the Classic Toon. It's probably my 2nd least favorite episode, coming in a few miles behind "The Gang's All Here."
I don't know what Eliot Daro and Bill Wolf were going for with the plot resolution, but it certainly made for one of the more embarrassing scenes in all of TMNT history (trust me, that's a long list).
If I have to be honest though... I do think the whole thing is kinda funny.

I've been thinking about this episode from time to time and I feel like Donatello should've called Splinter out on bull-crap them, saying those spheres were just mothballs. They had to be some kind of mystic gems or something that he happened upon someplace. Half the series Splinter's always going off on his own adventures and we end up knowing so little about him.
Also in the episode "Shredderville" I have this theory that Splinter himself orchestrated that entire dream with his ninja mind tricks!!!
